The inaugural Gen Z Wellness Summit, held on Sunday, February 25, 2024, was a huge success! With the theme of “We are All in This Together”, over 600 people filled the Centennial Ballroom of the Luskin Conference Center at UCLA to hear inspiring and engaging conversations about issues important to Gen Z’s: social media, addiction, LGBTQ, climate change, eating disorders, anxiety and depression, and relationships. The event was curated and presented by the Teen Advisory Council of the Friends of the Semel Institute for Neuroscience and Human Behavior at UCLA.

Free Mom Hugs

Mental Health First Aid

Mental Health First Aid

Free Mom Hugs was founded by Sara Cunningham, a Christian mother in conservative Oklahoma, who spent years rejecting her son Parker's sexuality, after he came out to her. Conflicted by her love for her son and her spirituality, Sara exhaustively searched faith and sexuality for answers. What she learned would transform her journey from the church to the pride parade.

Free Mom Hugs is now a nationwide movement of love, visibility and acceptance for the LGBTQIA+ community. With  chapters in all 50 states and other initiatives forming globally, the group’s growing force of more than 14,000 volunteers is a national groundswell dedicated to empowering the world to celebrate the LGBTQIA+ community through visibility, conversation and education.
